VoiceConX MD Technical Operations Information
VoiceConX MD provides its innovative communication technology from a World Class Data Center located in metro Atlanta, Georgia. Below are the technical specs that relate to the data center.
Data Center Construction
Tilt-up concrete structure with reinforced steel and dual reinforced roof rated for 85 MPH winds.
Shipping/Receiving
Large truck (18 wheeler) docks and small truck docks are able to support all of your shipping requirements. Secured Receiving area designated for customer owned equipment.
Floor Space
Total Raised Floor Data Center - All raised floor will support 6000 lb four-point load.
Communications
Carriers
VoiceConX MD uses diverse SONet fiber access from DeltaCom and Bell South. Internet access is from InterNap and DeltaCom, providing peering with more than 10 Tier I Backbones.
Internal Cabling
Copper or fiber access is used to carrier’s bandwidth when using cable management trays throughout the building.
External Cabling
Multiple secure entrances into building including multiple CO redundancy and fiber access to primary carriers.
Power
Power to Facility
Dedicated redundant feeds from local power company.
Generated Power
Essential (UPS) Power – Six 1800 KVA Hitec rotary constant power units supply up to 7.2 MW of power to the data floor with one unit redundant. Six 2250 KW Caterpillar generators backup a 10 MW Active Power UPS system with one redundant 1 MW UPS module and one redundant 2250 KW Cat generator, all without the need for batteries.
Critical (non-UPS) Power – Six 2 MW Caterpillar generators backup critical systems such as chiller plant, data floor lighting, and office space.
Fuel - 84,000 gallons capacity of diesel fuel on site with refueling contracts. 48-72 hours at maximum load.
Power Cabling
All power cabling below floors is encased in waterproof conduit with waterproof connectors to all equipment.
All Systems
Supported by 24/7/365 computer monitoring and facility engineers.
Cooling
Air Handling
N+1 Chiller Plant - Redundant piping systems for chilled fluid. Generator Backup for cooling system is provide by 6 CAT 2.0 mw Generators.
Air Quality
Air temperature above floor delivered at 70° ± 5° with humidity at 50% ± 5%.
Water Detection
Leak detection under all raised floor. Drains are utilized to remove any water from under floor.
Fire Protection
Smoke ∓ Heat Detection
Smoke sensors above and below raised floor.
VESDA
Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus - The world's leading air sampling smoke detection system—provides the earliest possible warning of a potential fire event by detecting smoke particles at the incipient (first) stage of fire.
Multi-Stage Protection
Preaction dry pipe system requires alert from two sensors, which activates pipe fill and a final stage when the temperature exceeds thresholds.
Physical Security
Entrances
All building entrances require card key access. Data Center floor and secured areas require card key and two- factor biometric authentication (finger print and iris scan).
Security Guards
Guards on site 24/7/365. Active patrols both inside and outside the facility.
Closed Circuit Video
Over 70 cameras cover inside and exterior of building, all entrances, alternate workspace, and data center floor.
Facility Monitoring
Facility Engineers
Facility engineers are on site and available by pager. Engineers trained to control and maintain all critical facility components.
Power Management
Critical power system is controlled by automated management system, which controls all switching.
Environment Management
Air temperature, humidity, fire detection, and water pressure all managed by automated control systems.
